Gypsy Chic a local clothing boutique on North Mississippi Ave took off to Vernonia to shoot their Fall Photo Campaign for the store. Vernonia proved to be the perfect location for the Gypsy Chic fall feeling. With the right blend of bohemia, nature and urban vibe. Via the Runway Show presented by Nordstrom benefiting PICA. Event was hosted by Wieden+ Kennedy Saturday September 27th 2008. As always it was a wonderful evening of fashion by such designers as Hanni Y., Tracey Reese, McGinn, M Missoni, Phillip Lim, Vera Wang,and Milly. Heidi Cuthbert joined Gypsy Chic at the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival last week at the Mendocino Fairgrounds in Boonville, CA. Gypsy Chic's booth setup at the "Festival Village." With beautiful streaming colors and exotic aromas, the Festival Village is an active marketplace of food and craft booths.
Heidi worked with Jamie and Brian at Gypsy Chic to setup and manage the booth at the festival.
Created through the collective efforts of the artists, vendors, staff,
volunteers and ticket buyers, the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival is
known for the positive, conscious, environmentally aware community it

The Flourish event on April 10th at the Mississippi Ballroom was a huge success!! The show was the perfect setting for the gathering of the North Mississippi Crowd. The room was filled with plants and flowers from Pistils and birdcages and lattices from Flutter. The evening was a benefit for the Escuela Viva School in North Portland. The turnout was amazing !! We had a packed house with people peeking in the windows from outside.
Steven Humphrey of the Portland Mercury MC’d the fashion event and
DJ Mr. Mu Mu cranked up the tunes and out
came the models. All the stores involved gave their unique flavor and style in a great representation of what
Mississippi Street has to offer.
JE Salon
owner Jason Eckeberger and Stylist David Scott created a creative and
fun vibe for stores Gypsy Chic, Sameunderneath, Blue and Blue Sky Wellness with help from Theo Alto a fellow stylist here in Portland
and Glen a stylist from Seattle. Belle Epoque Salon stylists Kristen Lee and Maggie also lent their
creative hair designs with Pin Me Apparel, Phlox, and Black Wagon.
The show was followed with a silent auction and raffle and people with their goodies spilled onto Mississippi Street and shopped the night away with store after parties and discount shopping.
Heidi-Style considers Flourish 2 a huge success and looks forward to the next Flourish event in September. Many thanks to all who participated: The stores on Mississippi Avenue, food from Por Que No? and Mississippi Pizza, the volunteers who helped at the door and alcohol garden, Bridge City Promotions for donating the beverages and especially to all the community for their support.

The second annual 'Flourish' fashion show will be held at the Mississippi Ballroom on Mississippi Avenue at N. Shaver Avenue in Portland, Oregon on Thursday evening, April 10 starting at 6 pm.
Flourish 2 is a fundraiser for Escuela Viva.There will be a silent auction and raffle in addition to the fashion show and you will groove to the music of Portland favorite DJ Mr. Mumu.
Styling for the show will be provided by Belle Epoque Salon on Mississippi and Jason Eckeberger and David Scott (Hair) and Heidi Cuthbert (Makeup) from JE Salon.

Well one month in to the new salon and things are great!! It has been so nice to see everybody and your response has been very exciting. The salon looks great. We have added a few things this month including some amazing art from Southern California Artist Jon Nelson. Jon's work was hung in the salon this weekend and will be up for the next 8 weeks so please come check it out.
I will be attending an event on the 13th of this month called Boutiques Unleashed: a fundraising event for Dove Lewis Emergency Animal Hospital in Portland. I will be there representing Gypsy Chic. There will be a fashion show, cocktails and appetizers, so all you animal lovers take note:).

On Saturday, February 16 Heidi and Kass attended the 2008 Oregon Active Penthouse Ball atop 3601 SW River Parkway in the South Waterfront in Portland.
Proceeds from this special event benefit the Oregon Active Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to providing outdoor adventures for young adults battling cancer and other life challenging conditions.
